# Multifamily Security Checklist for Charlotte Property Managers
Use this checklist to audit the physical security of your apartment or multifamily property in the Charlotte metro area.
## 1. Perimeter and Lighting
- Confirm parking lots, breezeways, and stairwells meet IESNA foot-candle minimums.
- Replace failing fixtures with full-cutoff LED heads.
- Trim landscaping away from first-floor windows and entries.

## 2. Access Control

- Route serious incidents to ownership within 60 minutes.
## 6. Resident Communication
- Publish a quarterly safety newsletter.
- Post BOLO alerts in the resident portal when relevant.
- Provide a non-emergency officer line for suspicious-activity tips.
## 7. Compliance and Documentation
- Keep officer PPSB registration cards on file and current.
- Verify insurance certificates name the ownership entity as additional insured.
- Retain post orders and daily activity reports for at least 12 months.
